Great price! I didn't know about lrdirect but I will definitely look them up next time I need something else.

Be sure to update the firmware in the IID when you get it (after activating it in your car). Once you have registered and activated the tool you will see a tab on the GAP Diagnostics website that says "MyGAP" - there are instruction there for updating the firmware in the tool.

I have a question about IID that I received. When I open the box, on IIDtool, it says "Diagnostic for : Range Rover L322 2002 to 2005"
Is this for Range Rover or can be used on Disco3?

Update of the different part no of IIDtool :
Gap-Diagnostics changed the firmware to Disco 3 through the web.
Their support is the one of the best on the web and was very helpful!

I wasn't sure between Faultmate MSV-2 and IIDtool but the price gap was too big and the reviews on the forum was convincing for IIDtool.

I hope this electric spanner will give me peace of mind on the road somewhere in the outback.

The part no DA6400 is for Range Rover 2002-2005.
For Discovery 3, the part no is DA6405.
If you got different model, contact support@gap-diagnostic.com then they can help you to change the firmware for your vehicle.

GAP have released a software update for their D4 IIDTool. It now allows for the CCF to be modified as well, such as switching on DRL and lots of other options which I don't have on my TDV6.

I still had to look at my OBDII connector for this bad contact on one of the pins to get my IIDTool to work correctly (ie due to a bad contact the display doesn't update sometimes when a steering wheel button is pressed), but is there a way to take it out completely for a proper look? The pictures in an earlier post are of an OBDII connector in a D3 which looks to me held in by 2 screws.
But on my D4 is looks like the connector is held in place by a small metal plate which is fixed in place with a rivet. Is there an easy way to remove the connector from this metal plate?

Never mind, I have the BT version now, the interface from my iPhone seems much faster compared to using the steering wheel buttons. I'm happy!

Do you have the older BT version or the newer BT version. I got the BT version when it first came out, and have since been informed by GAP Diagnostics that they will be sending a replacement out, as my BT stopped working; apparently it has a connector which isn't robust enough for rough use.

BTW, does your firmware allow editing the fuel consumption % in the CCF?
