IID Tool vs Faultmate MSV-2 for D4

I would like my MSV-2 to clear faults on specific ecus on my D4 as it is meant to do rather than have to clear faults on all ecus. Its sometimes appropriate to leave faults on specific ecus when needing to clear faults on a particular ecu. I understand that BBS are busy and have priorities but fixing what appears to be a basic problem in a current model device that has existed at least since the middle of last year needs some attention especially as the problem is not confined to just one customer.

The MSV-2 is the absolute ultimate Land Rover vehicle diagnostic system, and as such it does also provide a feature that allows the reading and clearing of faults on all ECU's at the same time, but this is only a sub function and not how it is expected to be normally used.

From entry, you would typically select a vehicle model and a vehicle system. You would then get a menu of functions for that vehicle system including reading or clearing fault codes.

Selecting Clear Fault Codes will result in the fault codes of only the selected vehicle system being cleared. All other systems and their Fault codes will not be affected.

FWIW, the new IID Tool for the D4 is out; there are two versions apparently. Again through BritParts.
DA 6408 D4 with Bluetooth (apparently needs BT v4)
DA 6406 D4 w/o Bluetooth

Any update on this? I know previously you said you couldn't give any more info yet. I'm hoping to replace my D2 with an LR3 (D3) and it would be awesome to be able to purchase a software update for my current nanocom evo. If this isn't possible, as soon as I sell the D2 I'll look into selling the nanocom, to fund the purchase of the D3 compatible version, when it comes out.

Is it possible to transfer my license to another person, so that if I sell the hardware they can still get updates?

AFAIK the licenses for the Nanocom are tied to the Nanocom hardware ID rather than to a person. It's just a matter of the new owner creating an account on :: Nanocom :: with the device ID as you do when you first purchase a new Nanocom. You may need to get the BBS staff to delete the license information associated with the email address you registered the Nanocom with, as I don't think you can have two Hardware ID's linked to the same email address? I know I had some trouble with this when I upgraded from a Nanocom One to an EVO.

Add: I purchased the One from eBay and had no trouble activating an account on the nanocom site, despite it being previously registered.

Paul is of course quite correct once again, it really is that simple.

On a new registration to a device any old association is automatically overwritten and a new password generated which also serves for anyone forgetting their password.

On the two hardware aspect Paul, i believe you can have two Hardware ID's linked to the same e-mail address and which one you get the unlock codes for depends only on the password used

jafir: Our developing coverage of CAN BUS vehicles on the Nanocom Evolution is proving to be far slower than i had hoped would be the case, and normally i would be very embarrassed and upset about this and giving my guys a really hard time.

However, for once the direction things are going in and the results i am already seeing are indeed Awesome and do more than justify the time taken and in the long run such an initial investment in time and effort will be of great benefit when it comes to covering the newest and even future Models.

Just for starters, although once something that i could not promise, now it is indeed the case that there will not be different 2 versions of the Evolution but the additional covereage will simply be added to the existing capability and you will only be required to purchase additional unlock codes to access the new models.

Unfortunately you will also have to buy a new lead.

I will post up news of further developments here on this Forum, as and when i am able, but right now i can tell you that although it may well take another month or a few more months, when this capability is finally launched on the Nanocom Evolution it will almost certainly provide the best capability availiable for the cost that the Nanocom has always been so well reknowned for

Sorry to disappoint you BBS Guy but the device still does not clear faults from a single ecu, not engine management faults at least. It only issues a message saying it will then immediately starts reading all faults again. Clear all faults from the main menu does clear them though, as previously. A functioning primary turbo would be nice too.

Not really disspointed or surprised.
I regard any problem or failure in anything as only but an opportunity to possibly improve it.

As your problem is only present in the stand alone capability we looked into this and although we did find a small problem or two in the Stand alone capability that were easily fixed, we could not find any problem in the function of the stand alone module that clears only the Fault Codes in a specific ECU, and mostly other than fixing the couple of problems we found in other areas, we just did some improvemnts to the Text to make it clearer and the Help files that expalian how to use the stand alone features.

I will have my guys do some more digging in the hope of figuring your particular problem out with a D4 EMS and get back to you.
