    Amigos Problem Help

    Hello All
Have recently had a few issues in my TD5 D2 with the three amigos. i have a nanocom and often reset them but more recently they come back on a regular drive. the usual ones are low output rear left abs sensor and shuttle valve switch electrical failure.
I have replaced the LHR wheel sensor and checked the wiring all the back to the firewall and then around the SLABS ecu and all seems in good condition. i have also checked the abs modulator for wiring problems and replaced the shuttle valve switch but it just keeps coming back.
Attached are the logs of the faults. any help appreciated.

    Thanks Outback1

I had a good look through there and i think i'm going with the option B bypass on the WABCO unit. I have no oil leaking in the unit, all my wheel sensors are good and i have replaced the shuttle valve before I knew what it was all about (I think could have just done the bypass to start with)

I will post an update after finished this weekend.

Before doing option B have a look at the earth on the radiator support panel.
There are 2 bolts IIRC on the air cleaner side of the panel, 1 is the earth for the WABCO unit.
I've had these come loose before when giving the shuttle valve code.
    Cheers, Kyle

Also the green yellow wire (?) that you bypass when doing option b can be loose on the abs connector block. Push in firmly. Or do option b and this will ensure connectivity.
Option b fixes a specific fault with broken pcb connectors. It won't fix faulty svs due to leaky brake fluid or other reasons (check resistance). Lots of people do it and it fixes their 3 amigos so swear by it; others do it and still have the faults so swear at it.

An update on my mates the amigos. Well I checked all harnesses and the new and old shuttle valve and as suspected the old one was fine. So option b underway. Didn't take more than 30 mins to complete and then took for a solid test run up down dunes, over corgis toons and used hill decent and traction control allot and happy to say they are gone!!! Thanks for the help yet again members I love this site nothing is beyond a message and a few questions.

I had the same issue recently.

You would clear the 3 amigos, they would come back in matter of days or weeks.

Replaced the Shuttle valve with a brand new genuine Wabco unit and that fixed it for a solid month, then guess what, they were back. I checked all the electrical connectors, SLABS ECU, earths, everything i could find.

After much reading, i decided to do the Modulator Wiring bypass. Completed the task and the 3 amigos were still on - i was expecting them to go off once i had completed the Bypass.

I then wiped the fault again with the scan tool. And voil?, they have not come back on since. Here's hoping they stay off!

    Cheers,
