MoveLater2 IID TOOL WITH BT FOR 2014 DISC 4

Has anyone purchased an IDD TOOL WITH BLUETOOTH to suit a 2014 Disc 4 & if so what do you think of it? also can you leave it plugged in to raise the height for extended off road periods?

It is not recommended to leave it plugged in for extended periods of time.

Besides, you don't need to have it plugged in continuously to have raised height for extended periods of time. You just plug it in, change the base height calibration offset ie +20mm, +50mm etc. and then remove the tool.

Reverse the procedure when you wish to restore normal base calibration height - hours, days or weeks later.

Suspension height control functions normally within the cabin, albeit from a different base calibration height level.

Yes and I'm very happy with it to date. Very easy to use via BT and no issues with pairing. Also good that you can use dash screen if there's a BT issue or no iPhone with you at the time. Live value reading and recording is a nice feature that I haven't used much yet but works well. Fault reading and clearing also straight forward.

Haven't used it to alter CCF yet. No particular feature that I'm chasing at this stage.

I have Llams so haven't tested the suspension height function but it's as Ferret said above.

As per comments above, mine is MY13 but same deal, live values and being able to record, store and then send files is great. I was interested in auto box oil temps on the way back from Darwin, towing 3.2T van, easy to use, suspension changes are simple (pity you can not do a custom label once you have allocated a setting but no biggie). Llams unit would be nice for the convenience of flicking a switch but for the approx $700 this will do what Llams does plus give you a whole lot more.
Interestingly, even though the instructions state you can read some vehicle information of vehicles other than the VIN locked vehicle, I tried it the other day and because we were in an area with no internet / data it did not allow the connection.
I want to explore a bit more but considering the control you have over an individual wheel how about if you have a flat, extend the suspension, place jack under correct jacking point, retract wheel to lift it off the ground, change the wheel, reset to correct height.
An excellent tool used in context with other skills and knowledge.

I've had the IIDtool for a few weeks now so I'm not a seasoned user but a function that you might be interested in is "Favourites List" which allow you to save certain configurations that you change regularly. So you would have one setup for off road height and one for on road height. Making it all work was easy so long as you have the correct version of Android (4.2 or greater I think) or an iPhone. I did notice that when making a change to the CCF it would only come into effect when the car ECUs went to sleep (a few minutes wait) and then started again, not as per the on screen instructions of turn off engine then start again.

Found this old thread, couple of questions..

Thinking of getting a gap tool

If there are two LR's that need to be vin locked, can it be done with the one Gap tool?I wouldn't mind it being able to work on the Puma as well as the D4.

Also if the tool is sold,or the vehicle sold, how easy is it to change the vin locking to another vehicle?

    Thanks in advance.

You can buy extra vin unlocks. Not sure about different vehicle types but I think they are supported on the Bluetooth version. Email Patrick at Gap, he's very helpful.

Changing the vin locking is easy. If it's your vehicle just email Gap (I did this when I went from the D3 to the D4). If you sell the tool the new owner can get it transferred for a small(ish) fee.

If you want to use it on the Defender you need the Bluetooth version as there is no screen on the Defender. Unfortunately when I bought mine the Bluetooth version didn't exist so I can't use mine on the Defender.

    Cheers,

Locking then unlocking the car is faster.
