    Hi Colin,

    Sorry I'm not very good with the terminology etc but does (from the website re V1.31) "Flash Programming: Additional 11Bit ECU's (D4/RRS 2010+) now available for flashing and on Genesis: Engine Management System" mean I might be able to put a BAS remap on my 2010 TDV8 sometime soon?

    Although we have indeed now introduced EMS flashing on 2010 onward Vehicles, Sadly this does not mean that it will be possible to flash custom Remaps from BAS ow or anytime soon.

    It is a bit complex to explain the reasons for this, and it actually took quite a bit for even me to get my head around, but i will try to explain and simplify it.

    The later 2010 EMS ECU's have much greater processing power and as such impliment a much higher level of encrypted checksum that is embedded in the Map files and has not yet been cracked. So we can flash all OEM files because their origional checksums are included and accepted by the ECU's operating system. However as it has not been cracked no one can providde modified maps with an accepted check sum.

    Tuners like BAS can however directly program modified maps but only directly, as in by opening and directly connecting to an EMS ECU's CPU and also modifying the ECU's operating system to downgrade the Check sum part. Sadly however access to ths part of the ECU is not possible to do via a connection made via the OBDII socket.

    Thats why you see pictures of my nice Bali Blue RRS on a Rolling Road on the BAS web site.

    Managed to eventually get the firmware updated - I don't recommend using virtual windows on a mac, it seems to make for a very unstable install, and resulted in me having to do the trick of pulling out the jumper to force it into kernel mode.

    Anyways, it really is way, way faster, both to navigate and to read faults, which is very enjoyable.

    There seems to be lots of extra functionality, I'm particularly keen to play around with the global air suspension height adjustment functionality, and there's lots of extra useful and interesting sensor/instrument readouts - EGR activity, throttle angle, water temp I think is new, etc etc.

    On the down side I still seem to only have 6 of 8 cylinders according to the injector readout. The update also didn't make any difference to my pre-existing lack of signs of life from the MAF or Manifold Inlet pressure (don't know if that's the MAP sensor?), and the aforementioned EGR readout doesn't seem to be working/reading unless my EGRs are both dead.

    It's definitely made a good product much better, and I'm only in the shallow end of using it's capabilities.

    Hi Colin

    Not a bad first effort. I've thrown up a bit of feedback up in the Nanocom forum but to summarise (for those like me who rarely venture there), the following are some feature requests for your next update.

    1. If you have a file that runs longer than an hour, the minutes reset to zero after 59 mins. perhaps add an hour field to the X axis or allow the minutes to increment above 60.
    2. Most log files I've looked at have random spikes/glitch readings. When plotted these result in the graph detail being obscured, when the Y axis is scaled to Min/Max readings. It would be worth considering implementing either a spike filter or a Y axis rescaling option.
    3. Zooming. In unmerged mode when you zoom into one graph, the others do not follow, making it difficult to correlate patterns and behaviours between instrument feeds. It would be most useful, if when zooming into one graph that the others followed. The merged function partially compensates, but gets very cluttered if you have more than a few feeds plotted.
    4. A reset zoom button would also be useful rather than having to scroll back using the centre mouse wheel.

    No worries, happy to help explain things to anyone interested.

    Yep, I really love Blue's, especially mettalics, so I hunted very specifically for one in that colour with a sufficiently high spec and with a Light premium leather interiour. The 22 inch wheels were also my choice which Pete at BAS found for me at Billing. I wanted large dark backed Diamond cuts so just like the Blue Metallic paint would especially pop in the Cyprus sun.

    And sure enough here is a Picture of it on its first day in Cyprus





    Of course I have long since got rid of the wind deflectors and nasty towbar. I also had the whole front end professionally resprayed as it was a bit stone chipped and jaded and the rest detailed to as new state. I also did a few other things, like put new Leather covers on the seats, new shocks and so on. It now looks like new and goes even better

    Anyways, enough Drooling.
    Onto your comments re the upgrade.
    I actually have it on our To do list to re work the Upgrading software to include a Mac version and this is rapidly rising up the list.

    I am pleased to see that you have noticed the many improvements we have made to the nanocom Firmware to speed things up. I still have a few ideas for possible further improvements though.

    Now that we have released the CSV viewer. This has made CSV captures a much more useful aspect and Eevo gave me a suggestion via a PM about setting up an Auto capture option that we are looking at and after chatting with my guys seems doable.

    This is quite novel in that what it really means is that the nanocom could become an automated Data recorder that could be then used to capture any possible Engine malfunctions, kinda like a Flight recorder on a plane, otherwise known as the BLACK BOX

    In respect of your having lost a couple of Cylinders Etc, yea sadly I could not figure out where to glue a couple more onto mine to give us a working V8 to test.

    If you would like to contact us directly, I am sure my chaps would love to work with you to hone these little details out for both our benefits, which is not exactly the first time we have worked with AULRO members to great sucess and benefit for all.

    Many thanks for your Feedback and suggestions.
    We did discuss a multi hour file situation and elected to reset the Minutes after hitting the next hour based on the rarity of such a long file and the ability to see where you would be at in such cases via the Scroll bar.

    We also encountered some files with occasional spikes and did impliment some coding to cover things like missing Values. We also considered adding some kind of filtering. However, as the CSV viewer is designed to be flexible enough to handle any values regardless of name etc, it would be hard to pre set any value specific limits and even attempting to impliment pre checking every single value based on some intelligent averaging algorythm etc would be so processor intensive that it would really slow file opening done prohibitively.

    There is also an aspect of our not wishing to hide the truth that the files hold. After all, what if a sensor connection was indeed bad and providing occasional off scale readings.

    In the end, this is a CSV viewer that by definition should show you exactly what the Data in the CSV file is, warts and all

    Re additional function wants / wishes on the Zoom feature etc.

    While I certainly would not wish to put anyone off in making suggestions for possible improvements, which like yours, we will consider carefully and fully appreciate, I would point out that we have freely provided this new capability and although it may well be possible that it could be improved upon, it is however still a quantum leap forward and a huge, unexpected and free benefit for all nanocom owners.

    I've tried to update the firmware but it says no device attached. I using a Mac with a virtual Windows 10.

    Anybody got any ideas?

    I had no issues using a PC.
    No macs here!

    I did it step by step using the youtube video as a guide.

    Still haven't tested it though...
