    Nanocom fuel pump test

    Gday
I was checking out a mates disco 2 td5 went into test page of nanaocom and tested fuel pump, it showed up test completed but doesn't actually confirm that pump is working, same with other test functions on screen.
Is it m ent to show the part you are testing is working or not?
I am fairly new to the nanocom.
    Thanks
    Rob

No, it doesn't give you pass/fail feedback.

The test functions activate the part in question for a short period of time so you can verify it is working. The operator has to physically check to determine whether the part is functioning.

    cheers

As Paul said you can't actually check the pump with nanocom, all you can check is the pump relay's coil cos only that's connected to the ECU, you'll not even know if the relay's contact has failed, the shortest way to check the pump is to bridge the relay's contact in the fusebox, then if you dont hear the pump there are two possibilities:
    1. pump is dead
    2. wiring issue

also there is the chance to hear the pump running but the pump to not deliver HP only LP, not uncommon at all
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned

Thanks, was curious if I missed something with nanocom, which I haven't luckily, no noise was heard when test was performed or on ignition pos 2,
Ended up putting 12 volt positive and negative strait to pump ( pos top right, neg bottom left) and got no noise, so pump is dead. I confirmed test on my d2 which is running and heard pump for a second as nano tested.
