    scan tools

Just wondering what scan tools people have as I have a great ol engine light on, has put the car into Limp mode.
have been thinking about buying one.... just might be sooner rather then later.

Any one got one that pairs up to your phone

If your fault is a basic engine code a generic OBD2 scanner will let you know the fault code and allow you to clear it. You can transmit the data from the reader to an app on your phone by wifi or bluetooth
You will need a Landrover/model specific device to read and clear, non generic fault codes and faults in ECUs other than the engine

I use an Ultragauge permanantly plugged to my RRS and Defender Puma which monitors the generic engine codes.
For Landrover specific fault codes I use a Blackbox Solutions MSV2 Extreme

    What is your Landrover?

AFAIK the TD5's have a problem with bluetooth, you need a real scan tool,, the V8's however will do a fair bit via a LM327 bluetooth dongle
My original one of these lasted 7 odd years,, then the last two have had a connection issue...
there should be a few proper tools around for the D2 that people have relegated to a shelf after a model upgrade,,

I just stumped up for a Nanocom when I knew I was getting the car.
    Worth it's weight in gold.

I don't think on OBD2 scan tool works with the TD5

AFAIK the v8 has some OBD2 functionality, due to a requirement for sale in the USA. Td5 was never offered there, so no need for compatibility.
Wasn't there a thread on here for people with diagnostic equipment in different areas? Maybe get a member to help out on the beer economy?
