    Rovacom Lite

    G'day,

I'm looking to clear some general EAS faults and also measure/adjust/reset my EAS bag heights. Haven't had to do any fault diagnostic work in a long time and was hoping to use a Rovacom Lite system I've had since at least 6-7 years: alas, I've lost the software (laptops die and discs get lost etc). I was wondering if anyone might have a copy of the basic software (or a link to it online) to get me started. Thanks

    car is a 2000 4.6 HSE

You’ll need Vehicle Explorer from the Downloads page of Blackbox Solutions.

I think that’s in the private download area so you’d need to register.

Do you still have your software registration details as you’ll need that to activate the P38A software which is locked to your VIN?

I have Vehicle Explorer if you can’t download it.

    Hi Ron,
thanks for getting back to me: appreciated.

I do have my login details (with TUP codes etc) so will try first on the BBS downloads page and let you know how I get on. I did have a Faultmate FCR for a while though didn't get much change out of it and thought it an inferior product to the Rovacom Lite module (this is not to say I was sufficiently well informed or knew what I was doing, however, at $105 postage to have it 'reset' at the factory in Cyprus each time and then be faced with the same non-compliant / dysfunctional issues on return I eventually binned it..
Will let you know how I get on.

Ok, so I managed to access the BBS site and get into my account: downladed what was available in terms of Vehicle Explorer. Alas, on trying to install it wouldn't connect to my server unit. I tried it using a couple of different power sources inc the car itself) and also using a couple of different laptops: no joy. On the second laptop a popup appeared saying the hardware was discontinued since 2012. On the BBS site/interface the p38 doesn't even appear as a supported vehicle for VE 1.33..
I'm wondering if an older version of the software might work: on my registration details which I printed out years ago it says Vehicle Explorer v1.17, I don't suppose you have an exe copy of that file?

    thanks in advance

I have the old VE 1.17 disc from my P38A days. I’ll hunt it out. I’m currently using 1.33 with the L322 software on my very old Faultmate.

Ahh, sorry. My disc is VE1.20

I'll zip it up and put it on Dropbox and PM you the link. I thought of just sending the exe file but probably better with the lot (even though you won't need the IE5 and IE6 bits).
