BlueTooth OBD Scanner/App (IOS) - any suggestions (looking for one with DPF readings)

I'm not a mechanic by any stretch but looking for a basic ODB Scanner mobile app that can read fault codes and in particular let me know what soot levels are in my DPF and if it has gone into regen mode.

I have a Land Rover Disco Sport 2017 Diesel. Most of the tools there are too complex. I was looking at OBDLink MX+ but it does not give the additional settings that show the DPF levels for this model. My engine management light appears and then send sometimes disappears 24 later. Probably a dodgy sensor but would like a tool so I can see the fault code.

It's crazy that LR don't have this as an option in the vehicle information section on the dashboard and appear to make it impossible for app developers to share. It's like they are trying to lock you in to only going to them for every little fault.

Doubt I would buy another LR in the future. Rant over.

Any recommendations on a BlueTooth solution?

    Thanks in advance

    Martin

It's not only JLR with this approach, all manufacturers are going down this route, trying to tie up the service work.

Very true, although recent decisions in the US ( John Deere ) and the EU (  ) may see changes. I'm not holding my breath.

    Hardly….

LR OBD and canbus is well known and there are plenty of tools out there that can read the codes easily.

I’d give you details of the $200 job that a guy here uses in his Sport but he is currently in a Thailand for a couple of weeks.

The argument that it should all be on the touch screen is flawed, almost no manufacturer of anything has such exposed diagnostics.

True. I wasn't commenting on that angle. I don't know of any car that has that sort of functionality, so if that is a requirement for purchase choices are going to be severely limited.

Most shops will have a higher end scanner ( Autel, Snap-On etc ), and will then pay an annual sub to the manufacturer for access to the technical data, bulletins etc. Even the diagnostics on a D2 via a Nanocom are impenetrable to the lay person. Good thing we have AULRO.
