From what I've read the jaycar units won't work with LR's. I believe rover use a proprietry protocol and won't work with anything not designed specifically for land-rovers.

I purchased the Jaycar unit a while back and confirm it definitely will not work on a Td5 engine - it tries to connect and returns with some type of error message regarding the protocolQuote:
