Professional Grade OBD-II + EOBD Code Reader + Scanner

Hi All,
This post may be of value to some landy owners out there after an OBDII reader. I have no affiliation with them, just though this may be of some help.

Forgot to add that I have a 2000 D2 V8 so know this unit works.

Following on from my previous post here relating to this scanner, I did a little more research and came across a site in China who stock the same product but for 52.08 AUS less. That link is here.

Basically wolfgear were selling the same item for AU $145 + 15 shipping where as chinavasion were selling the same product for AU 80.23 + 27.69 DHL shipping from china, so a saving of AU 52.08 buying through chinavasion. Being the sleuth that I am for finding the best bargains - bought the unit through chinsvasion.

I placed the order on the 7th July and received it on the 14th July. Not bad considering it's from China!

As for the unit itself, very well made. Documentation came on minicd and is very thorough - 91 pages in total! Not rocket science to plug in and get up and running even for a pregnant brain chick!

I've got a list (*sigh*) of error codes past and present that has come up and will post those in the appropriate area to seek some advice...

There is this one also. Never used it myself as I have a Disco1 (and a factory code reader).

Does it allow you to read/reset codes from the SLABS module etc too or just the standard OBD2 stuff?

Would be good if it could get rid of the 3 amigos at that price.

Hi There,
I'm not at all comprehending what the SLABS module is. The world of Landrovers is all new to me and I am very much learning. I did a Cntr+F on the manual to see if anything was mention in there re "SLABS" and no results were returned, however... not sure if it does or doesnt, I haven't got that far into reading it all yet.

If you are able to hold off for a few days as I have to go back into to hospital (docs don't like such high BP w/ pregnancy) I can send you the file in ms word format when I am back home. Just send me a PM (and anyone else for that matter) who would be interested in a copy of the doco I have that came with the product if that helps.

Thanks for that. I think from the research I did on the forum it doesn't work or folk had problems with it, thus why it wasn't a goer for me...

Thanks LP,let us know if your scanner suits the D2 V8.
It will unlikeley acsess the other ECUs,just the engine.
Once I catch up with Kenny I will see if the TD5 Nanocom can talk to the V8 Slabs and BCU ECUs.
