Honestly I didn't make it up:p.
Guess I'm busted making certain I'm the only bidder so I can get the lot for only $5.

Back in the early nineties they sold off the series ones, I seem to remember they sold off for serious $$$ but soon after people bought them the reality of driving them hit and they sold them secondhand and a grand or 2 cheaper. I bought my old S2A REME at a good price from a guy who was replacing it with a Niva! Wonder how long that lasted him.
While all this is fun, I think it is still even money that someone up the top of the tree in the ADF or govt will decide that the perenties will be a perfect gift/donation for one of our neighbours.
It's a pity you didn't Bill... it might liven up the thread a bit :p;)
I'm reminded of the myth about the existence of crates of WW2 Harley Davidsons being stashed in sheds around Australia for use in the event of invasion from the north. These are still to be discovered by eager Bikers.
And I think that Ben is right: the largess gained from moving these vehicles onto an "ally" is much greater than their civilian retail value.
Any ideas where the old landy's will be auctioned?
Be interesting to be there on the day of each auction.
Cheers
