Toyota recalled a quarter of a million of them in the US. Not the LC, obviously, but the Tundra and two Lexus models with the same engine. Not modified, and some of the broken ones had only done 10,000 miles, Paul. It's a PR disaster for your favourite maker over there. And to rub salt in the buying public's wounds, Toyota refuses to recall the hybrid ones, as the electric engine can get them safely off the highway when the V6 breaks. Which it does.
The recall documents make extremely interesting reading. And, no, they cannot walk away from this one. there is no question it's a manufacturing fault. Toyota admit as much, and they are going to have to extend the recall past the 2024 models, as 2025 cars are failing as well. Time to admit they ain't perfect.
