When the Cadogon videos on the subject first showed up in my YT feed i thought here we go, 1 vehicle from a manufacturer that wasn't making vehicles 5 years ago ****s itself and its all doom and gloom. Yet multiple LC300 V6's have lunched themselves from a manufacturer that had 15 years to develop the current land crab and no one bats an eyelid.
Glad to see his approach on the latest video.

I saw the original video of John Canney and mostly took it at face value except the time line between the water crossing and the vehicle stopping . After watching the video the only fault I could see was that ineos failed to communicate adequately .I am not a fan of John Cadogon but I give him credit for a well balanced presentation . However this has not stopped the desk top mechanics and haters complaining among other things about the time taken for the process and lack of parts . I would consider the time about normal considering what we know about the circumstances . I speak with a bit of experience about this as when I was working in the Kimberly a company hilux drowned its self at a flooded causeway as I was watching , the car had less than 20 000 ks and had to be trucked back to Perth for repairs and took 4 to 5 weeks without any insurance company being involved .
In relation to the very few that have failed,particularly compared to the number sold,they were plastered over social media as well.Quote:

Toyota recalled a quarter of a million of them in the US. Not the LC, obviously, but the Tundra and two Lexus models with the same engine. Not modified, and some of the broken ones had only done 10,000 miles, Paul. It's a PR disaster for your favourite maker over there. Have a look at which manufacturers have the most recalls,relative to the volume of vehicles they sell world wide.
Last time i looked,Merc and Ford were well ahead of the rest,but things may have changed lately.
i still recon that Toyota engine issue, doesn't beat the Ford,your favourite manufacturer[biggrin],with the wet belt saga that went on for decades all over the world mainly in the UK and the US.
In the UK they ignored the issue, although hundreds of thousands of owners were screaming,over a period of 10 yrs,until the issue was noted in parliament.
And the dealers were charging customers for new engines when the belts failed long before they were scheduled to be replaced,and the vehicles were serviced correctly and on time by the dealers.
Edit: The more vehicles a brand sells,the more chance of an issue.Then when an issue does appear,more vehicles will be affected.
That is just life for the big Auto manufacturers whoever they are.
IIRC Cadogan still rates Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, (they are a conglomerate now), in his Top 10 brands to buy in Australia. I don't think Ford makes it even though his "inner bogan" would love to love the Ranger. Others in his Top 10 from memory were Mazda, Mitsubishi (he bought one), BMW, Kia/Hyundai/Genesis and MG. I don't think JLR made it into the top half of the 54 brands available as he views them as the British Jeep and Chrysler!

To get back on track I think he doesn't rank Ineos as too low volume sold.
That's the idea of it. The mach E would probably sell ok if they weren't 10-40k more than the current bench marks. And I believe they have already cut the price massively.Quote:

Civil case for DPF failure anyone?
Cracked spring mounts, engine mounts that fall into the chassis, cracks in engine bay skirts and I could go on and on with 100’s of common problems from all manufacturers
Our Hyundai , manufacturer now known for reliability now has 100,000 km on it, not one break down but has had the transmission replaced and now has it’s second ABS sensor fail
My D4 from the dreaded LR has 150,000 with not one single problem or failure but a much harder life and use profile than the Hyundai
Back on topic, nothing wrong with the Ineos because it has exceptional parts with the only exception being the HVAC and front drive shaft engineering and design
