But I agree. SuperDuty? Cat, meet pigeons.
They have said that the Ranger SD will be a more basic trim spec than the average ranger so no Wldtrack or Craptor, still better than an LC76/79 though.

I can't actually find a new M57 engine online, used seem to be 3 to 4 grand, and reconditioned 6 to 7 grand.

I'm starting to wonder if they fitted a new engine, be a tenth of the price to fit a reco or rebuild it.

You guys should jump over to the Grenadier forum, the thread on the Cape York disaster I’d hilarious, a heap of blinkers on fanatics supporting and making a heap of excuses for Ineos
I have watched all of the videos from the trip and the ones detailing the breakdown
The fact Ineos and nobody is stating what actually failed is disgraceful, if it was my vehicle I would be demanding to know the details of the failure and certainly not just accepting the “environmental “ excuse

Sounds very similar to Landrover Owners forum.

Apparently some posts of the engine failure video have been taken down.

Not sure why an insurer would cover an engine failure unless it was an accident rather than a mechanical failure.

So after a heap of speculation and YT videos that were not much more than click bait Ineos has released this statement, copied from the Grenadier forum

Good of them to release that statement.

I would,at a guess say no other vehicle manufacturer would have released anything.

Everything is usually kept in house, even if the manufacturer is in the clear.

You have to wonder at the motivation for the negative vids. That statement is pretty clear. Pretty sure the original vid stated no water crossing. Hard to see Ineos making it up.

That casts a different light on the incident. The clip I saw said it was a dry creek crossing.

The dry creek crossing might’ve been very shortly after a very wet, i.e. over 800mm creek crossing. I wonder how soon the damaged turbo vanes, muddy water in the intercooler, broken conrod and holed crank case took to manifest. I'm guessing the first two were pretty instantaneous, maybe the water lay in a belly of the IC then the bumps or extra power to climb out the dry creek caused the water to be moved further down the intake tract into the engine.
