Nope. That would be FIAT in 1969! I don't have brand loyalty, but I do have car loyalty. All my Falcons have been pretty good, for what they were. Never let me down is all I'll say. I never said that other manufacturers didn't have problems. I just get a little tired of Toyota's free advertising by everyone telling me they are indestructible. They are not. The US recall is, yes, petrol engines, and if you read the documents Toyota have not admitted anything, the recall is issued by the NHTSA as a safety recall. It is the second recall of the same cars in two years. Toyota cite "machining debris" in the engines causing bearing failure. Yeah, right. Two different plants build these engines, one in the US and one in Japan. And 'Yota have stated they are working on an improved bearing design.

They all make mistakes. A car is a very complex combination of different pieces of engineering. 'Yota is fallible, just like everyone else, and people need to admit it.

I know the diesel was not in the US,but there have been recalls here and in other countries such as the UK for the same sort of "safety issue"
