I don't think it is that far off. Perhaps a long range 787? Can't see the Cattle-Truck,.....sorry I mean A380 doing it.
Qantas ferried B747-400 from UK (Heathrow?) direct to Sydney - delivery flight (1990's?) . From memory skeleton crew, no seats or cargo, favourable winds, little reserves and direct tracking - but it made it.
But in the end do they wan't us to travel direct? Look at all those stop overs where the A380's will disgorge their cashed up cargo in to those Airport/Shopping centres in SE Asia and Middle East? Airports probably make more money out of shopping centres , than they do out of aeroplanes and airlines.:angel:
