There is much being made of the ocean currents being traced back to the crash site.... UNFORTUNATELY there is a hell of a huge chunk of ocean where the currents could take wreckage across to Reunion, so this doesn't make finding the crash site itself particularly easier.

- It would depend upon whether there were satellites with high enough resolution were tasked to be pointing at the bare Indian Ocean at the time.
- Don't you think the authorities and the people who owned the satellites would have done that already?
Yes I would. I know in the Marine world when some (expert) clown is frothing at the mouth, but I'm at a loss when it comes to aviation.

It'd be like a guy with 30 years experience fixing Land Rovers get a job as a cleaner in a Stealer Ship. An older Land Rover comes in with a problem but the Mechs can't work it out. The old guy know the problem and the fix but the Service Manager fails to listen becasue he is just the cleaner.
It used to frustrate me because I do some interesting things out of work that would blow the mind of some of the guys in a particular area at work but they didn't wont to know about me. Now I just look at them and laugh at the idiots. They'll tell you "Oh we did this and this happen" I just go "Oh really, maybe becasue of this". They get shocked that I know and then want to know how I know that. I just walk off sort of anoyed getting taken for granted but stocked I'm not one of them at the same time.

I'm not usually one to buy into conspirency theorys and the like but this sounds pretty legit.
I actually believe someone knows where the plane crashed. Maybe not what happened for it to crash but at least where it went down.
I believe that that organisation, goverment or whatever just isn't telling as to be releasing that information would raise the question of how do they know that.
I think humans make amazing acomplishments but we could do so much more if we could work together but that's just not in our nature.

Joel, those two posts back up everything I know about people, business, corporations, and governments - you are right on the money there.
Back in 2003, I was working as a trainee signaller with the railways having taken redundancy after 37 years in international telecoms. I'd done a lot more than just being a technician in that time.Quote:

I originally started as a Carriage Builder with the railways at Chullora Workshops. About a year or so back I was prepping an 8 car V Set at Flemo when I noticed some seat cushions and squabs that had been badly slashed and all the foam stuffing missing. I booked it up and a tradesman turned up to fix them...with Duct tape!
I tried to explain to him that the duct tape won't work as there was nothing left of the cushions and squabs to tape up. We needed new cushions and squabs to be fitted. He looked at me and said "What would you know, you're only a driver!"
I didn't know whether to laugh or punch the living day-lights out of him. So I told him to bring over the new cushions and squabs and we would see who could change them over quicker. He looked at me puzzled, then I explained to him that I was an ex-carriage builder from Chullora.
After much apologising, he returned with new seat squabs and cushions and changed them all without further comment. He still says hello every time I see him at Flemo now...
