One day, at the signal box where I was working, there was some work being planned and was being discussed by the area manager and planners. During the discussion, I made a suggestion based on my knowledge and the fact I'd have to use the equipment.
The manager who was an ex-fettler, turned to me and said "What would you know?" My advice was ignored and the install was, umm, less than desired.
