It is strange the military took so long to give this information, are they hiding something, the new search area is no where near where the plane should have been in the first place.
Maybe shot down by a rouge missile?
And why did MAS take five hours to realise one of there plans was missing?

If multiple passengers social media accounts are still being displayed as active or online, that suggests that whatever mobile device they're logged in on is still not only intact but functioning.
Doesn't mean that anyone is alive, or that they're just chilling on social media like it's all a big game, or that it's a myth.

SAM - well at what altitude was the aircraft last reported at. I suspect higher than the typical outdated SAM they'd be likely to have, but not impossible.
