flying low under the rada, there would be no need for cabin pressure

I thought that very flying low (in the ground effect) is not only below useful radar but conserves fuel?

I think you are right there. You got to be very low though. Unfortunately, it does not follow "The lower you go, the more fuel efficient you are." The opposite is more correct.

No turbine engines burn more fuel at lower altitudes.

Depending on the circumstances fuel usage is often double at low level than at normal cruise altitudes.

Ground effect, increases Lift but also increases drag ( denser air)

And to get this bird into ground effect would mean the motors would need to be fitted with different props. Like off a frigate LOL

When flying in formation --- or shadowing another plane ---- doesn't the following plane get lift from following the one in front?

I think it's less drag. Anyway, the planes following use less fuel. It has been suggested that long haul international flights group up in flocks. They've worked out the fuel savings would be significant.

I see the pilot was a member of Anwar's party and he was re-convicted of sodomy (a political tactic) just hours before the flight took off, so its been speculated that the pilot may have wanted to protest against this.
However, Anwar says that's just another attempt by the government to smear him.
So, probably not true, but interesting...

yes but the fule used hanging around to form up wasted the advantage as well as you do not get a doz 777 heading to the same place at the same time
