DH Chipmunk at, if I recall correctly, the King Abdulaziz Historical Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Feb 1989. I think this is the same aircraft that is now in the Royal Saudi Air Force Museum.

Totally random sighting of B-17 at Mesa whilst touring USA, one of the most beautiful sights and sounds you could hear. March '96

I've had a flight in Sentimental Journey in Seattle. I bought a book about her.

One of the more interesting aircraft I have seen in my times; the GROB Egret.
This aircraft is a high altitude surveillance aircraft capable of flying at 53000 odd feet altitude, and was photographed at Parafield.

I once took a photograph of a U2 surveillance aircraft in Saigon back in 1966 but unfortunately my film was confiscated by a big Negro Master Sergeant who told me that what I just saw did not exist in country!

The Dasault Mirage was in my eyes one of the most 'pleasing to the eyes' planes we have ever had in service in the RAAF. Also shot at Parafield Fly In.

I stumbled upon this Cessna 180 aircraft at Murwillumbah earlier this year and nearly fell over backward on seeing it, as I flew as an observer in this very aircraft more than once back in 1966.
First shot shows it "as was" in December 2013 - I believe it is now stripped down prior to a full rebuild back to 1966 specs.
Second shot shows this aircraft overflying a convoy in 1966. (we only had the two of these Cessnas in SVN in those days. They were later replaced by borrowed American 01E or whatever they were, and eventually the Pilatus Porter.

Also at Murwillumbah I stumbled upon this very early Gypsy moth (DH60), you may note the engine being up the right way with the crankcase to the bottom (as engines should be). This was changed in later development to enhance forward visibility and this with a few other modifications lead to the emergence of the well known Tiger Moth (DH82).

Taken at the same time as the several pics I had already added to Warbirds down under

There is this view of the Hawk, (complete with lens flare).

No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get a pic of the Hawk with a real-life hovering hawk that was in the vicinity in frame at the right time.

The aerial shot of the P51 was taken from the waist gun position of the B17 in the third photo. The P51 was escorting us on a dangerous daylight mission from Santa Ana to bomb Long Beach Harbour. Same day I got to ride in a B24. WW2 aircrew must have been skinny little guys. I couldn't squeeze through the hatch from the cockpit to the bombardier's position in the nose.

Another Stinson SR8C, (first produced 1936) this one, once again at Parafield Fly in a couple of years ago.
