I know the Spit is the sexy one , but lets not forget the part played by Bomber Command in the attacks against German forward airfields, invasion ports, barges etc. Also bombing Berlin and then the Luftwaffe retaliating against London took some of the heat of Fighter Command. Good to see a Blenheim in the recent events.
    cheers,

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

For anyone in Perth, the air museum near South Street uni has a Mk 22 you can get close and personal with.Funny thing is you stand in front of it and all you see is the huge prop,no wonder the things out-climbed everything else, and the most striking is how small it is,you sit in a normal plane but you wear a spitfire. Sadly, Nope.

Whether it 'could' or not is another matter, doubt very much if CASA would even permit an engine run-up... Assuming the engine still worked, of course.

I don't think they'd risk flying it even if it could, they have half a dozen Merlin and Griffon engines as well as a meteor so I think they could get a workable engine happening. Pat
