The AH1Z to replace the TIGER in the ADF ?

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

This is some sort of pathetic joke....

The Tigers haven't even achieved effective operational status and we are talking of replacing them.

Someones head or a number of them really should roll.

The whole time we have had them they have been operationally ineffective.

The Tiger was acquired as an Armed Recon Helicopter as part of Project Air 87. Although the "Egg" is a great aircraft, why would you replace the Kiowa with an aircraft that is just as old?

Personally, I think that the AH-64 is the better aircraft, although rather expensive. I think that they won't "can" the project, as the Government doesn't want another Sea Sprite fiasco.

    Apaches aren't the topic here.

Our govt is talking about replacing the Tiger.

The NH90 has the same distinction.

Are you suggesting we should send our military into conflict with a defective aircraft?

Not at all, I am saying that they should have purchased an aircraft that was already operational and proven, hence my preference for the AH-64 over the Tiger. The Apache was a much more expensive aircraft for initial purchase, but the Tiger is proving to be costing more in the long run. I we had of purchased the Apache in the first place it would have been operational a long time ago.

The RAN got it right with purchasing the MH-60R. Already in operation with the USN, and they aren't "Australianising" it.
