The RAN used the marinised version of the Vampire, called the Sea venom.

No, the Sea Venom was a different and slightly bigger aircraft. There was a Sea Vampire.
The Sea Venom had folding wings, I don't know if the Sea Vampire did.
Edit: Found this:
De Havilland Sea Vampire MK T.22 | Royal Australian NavyThe Navy has to cope with a number of difficulties in operating
Sea Vampires (the only deck-landing jets in R.N. Squadron
service)—notably those caused by the jet efflux on the flight
deck and the non-folding wings.

The Vampire was in 724 squadron, a second line squadron, used to convert pilots of front line squadrons to fixed wing jets. I'm sure no Vampire flew off Melbourne as a fleet unit. Touch & goes, perhaps, but without folding wings, I don't think so. EDIT. It was only operated by NAS Nowra. But it was indeed operated by the RAN.

There are photos on the 'net of a Vampire on the lift of an RN carrier, HMS Ocean. With such a small wingspan, they'd fit without folding wings. Oddly enough, the Sea Venom has almost the same wingspan as the Vampire.

Can you imagine trying to move a few Vampires around the hanger deck? To the best of my knowledge, Vampires served in 724 squadron, for fixed wing fast jet training, target towing, fleet support, and other associated tasks. Sea Venoms served in 805 Squadron, embarked on Melbourne. Either way, they were an interesting aircraft , adding to the colourful history of the Fleet Air Arm.
