Thread: Are budget airlines safe?

Safe? I'd say so.

Compare Australian airline safety records to other countries, especially our close Asian neighbours, and there's little to worry about.

I'd rather fly Jetstar than some of the Chinese airlines I've been on, and that's not just a rose tinted view of home versus those "bloody foreigners".....

I've flown with a few 'interesting' airlines.. Air Zim was very interesting... A petrol driven cutoff saw was used to extract one of the jammed alli luggage boxes and the damaged door was then bolted shut for the flight to Nairobi... The rivets were that loose they spun in their holes in the wings.. Was it scary? Nah it was bloody hilarious! At the end of the day the cheeper options will always have higher risks. Buy a Korean car over a German car and is it unsafe. No, prob not.. Will it be safe with 200000km on it.. There's a good chance! If you're worried pay the extra and fly with one of the big boys.. If you don't care, fly with one of the lesser knowns and have fun doing it!

But just wait until they're not busy flying.

Don't fly Garuda or any of the Indonesian airlines. Their interpretation of safety leaves a lot to be desired.

tiger ,jetstar ,mulinda,scoop etc fly newer aircraft than most top end airlines there only cheaper cause there's no tucker and pay for your bags..out of aus there all serviced by the same lazy it will be all right engineers, that kick tires at all aus airports..no money in pax seats all the $ are in the hold ,,

flying is very safe. what goes up must come down. never lost a man or woman up there.

anyway without jetstar q/f would be broke ..jetstar are carrying qantas
