Will come sooner than we think. Wasn't it Bob Hawke who said all pilots were glorified bus drivers? Having been associated with pilots it seems they do very little now. BUT they are on hand when something goes wrong and they then can take over. According to my sources, pilots MAY have some input in taking off and landing if they want to but they dont have to on many of the very new large planes. The technology is far more advance than what they will say as it would ultimately mean they all would/could become redundant. The question though is would I fly in a pilotless plane? Depends on the discount, depends on the plane and airline, and where it is taking off from and where it is landing. In many european cities they have driverless trams and trains, so what is next?

I gave this some thought, but after watching the Air Crash Investigation episode about the Qantas A380 engine explosion over Singapore, I believe their will always be a need for Pilots. Introducing pilotless aircraft would be a sure way to bring back Sea travel.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Do you really think that the Pilots wages make a significant portion of the operating expenses of an Airline? Enough to make a big difference in the ticket prices? Hmmm....

By the time we found out you were the Pilot we'd already be in the air, so then I'd just run up and down the isle screaming...
