So what exactly is so terrifying about a wooden gun on a vintage aircraft?
It is not as if it would be used in an armed robbery or anything like that.
What a bunch of over zealous ****wits, Leave the poor bugger alone .

A very good friend is an avid collector of firearms with a staggering collection from flintlock pistols to a British 6" Howitzer. A few years ago he acquired a Bofors gun and to get a collectors permit for it it had to be disabled. Breech block removed, holes burnt in the barrel. Now bureaucratic stupidity arrived. He had to do an automatic weapons course to get the permit in spite of the weapon never being able to be fired and only suitable for static display.

Making a complaint O.M.G. Happily the outcome was very appropriate.

“The police have now confirmed that I will not face charges and that they will be assisting with obtaining an exemption so I can continue to have the replica mounted to the aircraft,” he said.

AOPA Australia CEO, Benjamin Morgan; “I would like to thank Senator Jacqui Lambie and her staff for their assistance in helping our member, we appreciate the Senator working to protect Mr William’s freedom to freedom to fly.

“I would also like to thank Tasmanian Police, who are working to put in place an exemption for Mr Williams. We appreciate their understanding and support and on behalf of our national membership, I thank them.” he said.

What exactly is so terrifing? (1) Well for a start you might get a splinter in your finger.

    (2) Was it painted with Acrylic Paint or lead free or extra lead added?

JeezuzTrouty all those hazards on Public Display!

The first cop that inspected it must have been a ****ing dill or he wouldn't have progressed it further.

Whoever it was that said "The Law is an Ass" got it in one.

Maybe from the same family that reported this:

For a Display piece it would more appropriate to get a"Permit to Stand Around".
