    SubSonex jet kit plane

The first time I saw it, a couple of weeks ago, my first impression was that it was a radio controlled model. It didn't look big enough to be a real plane. However, I didn't think a model would be that loud.

I have seen it three times since then and a bit of research reveals that it is the first one outside the USA.

Bloke who owns it has probably pulled out most of his hair getting it certified.

At 43 lb (or 19.5 kg), the engine isn't much bigger than the average hair drier.

I have been told that the engine is normally an APU or Auxiliary Power Unit.
