    US Navy reversing its fighter jet design policy

    Instead of fitting the technology into the airframe, they are fitting the airframe around the technology, if that makes sense.

    That makes sense. If Australia took that approach I might have saved a billion wasted dollars on the Seasprite helicopter debacle.

    The only Seasprite to see a ANZAC flightdeck was in 03 at the HMAS Ballarat commissioning so it could look nice in the photos. I'm pretty sure the airframe on that particular Seasprite was 30 years old at the time.

    Trying to save money by reducing the crew from 3 to 2 , seemed like a good idea at the time I guess. But then it just descended in to a real can of worms.
