Assuming yours is a FL1 series 1 - buy a wrecked L series diesel and transfer the engine and Ecus and other diesel parts to your vehicle - but then why bother.

The diesel wreck will be worth more that your 1.8 petrol even if it was running.

I'm thinking of changing the engine

1.8 petrol engine does not function ended and the diesel engine does not have in Libya, and I'm thinking of changing the engine

Not worth putting a different engine in it - just too hard particularly as far as the elctronics are concerned.

You could find another good 1.8 and put that in and take the thermostat out (the cause of most the the Kent 1.8 engine issues). The temps in Libya are probably high enough that it will run fine with out it and you should not have further engine issues. If the weather gets cold - just nurse the engine until it gets warm.
