LHS Electric fan constant running without key in & motor is cold
Hi All, turned my 2004/5 S Td4 Auto Freelander off other day after short <10 km town trip but is an electric fan behind/below LHS headlight now runs continuously, with A/C & all turned off, no key in & still same now 2 days later & engine completely cold. Note; neither of main fans on radiator running at same time. Also, the A/C was still working fine & switching it on/off not made any fix/stop it.
It only stops when fuze is removed, (note, which also cuts off rear barn door latch opening).
Have just paid ridiculous $ to replace thermostat & hose a couple month ago because it ran cold & variable temps & I'll be towing small boat on trip soon. Best of my knowledge it never been overheated & runs great & regular serviced, now is normal rise to constant a tad below half on gauge.
? a mate suggested maybe an airlock affecting a sensor switch, but I not see how any electrical can run with no key in and all turned off?
Any help pls?
Ta Nev

Correction FYI changes please note re Transmission oil cooling fan, NOT A/C.
Seems it is fused capillary type temp selection dial/relay/sensor to activate oil cooler fan,,
Please, can somebody tell me there is/where to get a cheap, compatible replacement unit?

Obscure bit? Try TRS in South Aus. should be able to supply good second hand unit. Not sure of price for new or S/H units though.
Cheers
