Offroad Wheels & Tyres for Freelander 2
I am interested if anyone has actually been able to purchase a replacement set of offroad wheels and tyres for a Freelander 2 recently. If anyone has bought a new Freelander 2 in the last 6 months like me, it would have come standard with 19" alloys with 55 profile tyres - sort of at odds with the cars 4WD capability!
I asked the dealer if I could exchange the 19" wheels for 17" at the time of purchase - but it would have cost extra!!
Any details of where you could buy 16" or 17" replacement wheels & ATR tyres would be appreciated.
has anyone done any better/more info on FL2 rims?
Hi, All, Phideaux here,
About to sign up for a new FL2 TD4. Which WILL be going off-road/remote. So as standard practice I'll want a spare-spare. It's easier to get ridiculous skinny-tyre rims than it is to get 17" rims, apparently...
Does anyone know of a source of relatively cheap 17" rims? The best I've had offered is $600, and that wasn't firm.
Do Volvo or Transit rims actually fit? Anyone verified that?
I found one site in the UK (via Internet) which was willing to send them out here, might be able to get a set of 4 sent here for $1200-$1500 (to be confirmed). If so, would anyone(s) want to join in, take 1 or 2 rims?

18" whether I like it or not???
Hi, all, I never did track down 17" steel rims for an FL2 (though I tried!). I thought I'd found a UK site where it appeared that I'd be able to order tyres plus rims X6, delivered, for the less than the dealer price of 2 rims. Nope - that was FL1.
I ordered the TD4 from Barbagallo in Perth, to collect in August, with, as I thought, base-grade 17" alloys. Nope.:( I sent an e-mail saying, price spare-spare 17"? $1,107.00 - but it will be 18", they're not sending 17" to Oz any more. ? PS - got a spare alloy 18" rim from Graemecooper.com for $180, del. Am still looking for a supplier for steel rims, tho.
Freeelander 2 16" rims + full muds
I have just purchased a set of 5 x 16" x 6.5" - OE land rover alloys and have had them fitted with Maxxis Buckshot full muds (225/75 x 16) the 18's fitted as std are fine for road use - but are expensive if you wreck a tyre - i will be using the 16" in western NSW early august and will post my thoughts. The spare fits ok in the well and the diameter increase is 4mm (FL2 2010 model TD4 HSE)

What were the wheel and tyre specs? I've got 19" road tyres on my FL2 SD4 which look great and are fine for highway driving but we're doing more and more off road camping trips so I'm looking for a second hand set of 17" rims I can put some AT tyres on and the Volvo's appear to be the most available here in Aus.
Many thanks!
