Have an opportunity to buy low k HSE si6 at lower price than older diesel with higher ks.Apart from fuel consumption, why Diesel?

To me it would depend more on what my use was going to be and utilising the engines strengths.
Predominantly longer distance driving = diesel.
Predominantly short trips/city driving = petrol.
Thanks all, I can't see a real argument for diesel . Hard core diesel owners will no doubt disagree- having driven both petrol suits my driving style. Fuel consumption is not an issue, air pollution is.p
EGR and DPF clean up diesels.
