Hello! Finally pulled the trigger on a 2014 Freelander SD4 HSE Lux. Didn't need all the options ( I was looking for a base model to be honest!) but I got a great price for it as the interior was in horrible condition and the rear panel has a small gouge in it which i might need to do some panel work on the back. I have given the car a deep shampoo clean, restored the leather, engine bay and chassis wash and cut + polished and the car looks like new!
I have been VERY happy with it so far. No mechanical problems, got checked out by Land Rover and no issues. I do trick my self into thinking I can hear noises coming from the rear tyres and thinking about the dreaded rear diff issue but I think I am just being anxious!
I had a couple questions.
1) Anyone have a particular leather cleaner they like to use? I purchased a few bowdens own products ( Leather love, leather guard) which seem to have done a great job! (even got out sunscreen marks which the detailers couldn't even get out..)
2) Windshield sunshade options. OEM seems to be hard to find and are $150. Anyone found an alternative that fits? I looked at supercheap auto but they didn't fit.
3) How often are you changing your oil? I live on the Gold Coast and ricks 4WD suggest doing every 6 months (which I used to do in my own car, but that was an old nissan pulsar!)
4) Any suggestions of easy tracks on the south east coast? It will take me a while to do anything proper but even just some "dirt tracks" would be enough to start feeling adventurous!
Thanks guys! Here's a couple pictures for anyone who wants to see her
. I'll likely join a local LR club (I believe there is one on the GC)
