Maybe it had an auxilliary battery at one stage and the Anderson plug was powered from the aux. battery.

Normally they have two large round utilux type sockets - one with a black cap and the other one white. I haven't investigated the the white one on my Fl2 yet but have used the black one which was wired for std trailer lights.

    Leaking Egr cooler replacement

Done 2 in 2 weeks, an Ewok and a FL2.... all access from the top by removing the windscreen lower trim and wipers, the sound deadening and the galv tin secondary bulkhead. Fiddly as heck undoing all the clips and bolts and nuts brackets and hoses etc but after that rotate the whole egr assembly round and up out. Seperate the valve and cooler and fit new cooler with new gasket to egr valve and refit. Sounds horrific but really not difficult just time consuming. Waaay easier than tge Skoda Yeti i did recently...8 hours labour including dropping the front suspension and steering and loosening / levering thr transfer case out the way... bloody VW!!!!😠😠🤕
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

    New fob case and battery

I have ordered a new fob case, the white paint has been rubbed off with use, and a new battery as the current battery does not hold a charge for long.

The noise was from the from transfer case thingy. I'm a bit dissapointed (English understatement) in that I have a sticker saying the car needs a service in 12,000kms or six months. The Land Rover Schedule is 24,000kms or 12 months, unless the vehicle has arduous driving conditions, which is doesn't. Something to be aware of if you are unsure and think the mechanics are pulling a fast one.

Apologies as I'm a bit late to the party on this. Stop / start traffic is arduous conditions. So is beach driving.

    Crank angle sensor issues

    G'day Guys,

I've been having some ongoing issues with my CAS for the last few months. Every now and again the car would give a big jolt or cut out completely. If you give the CAS plug a little jiggle it would work again.

The problem is with the CAS plug. I had it off and pushed the contacts in a bit tighter and it's going ok for the moment. There is not enough wire there to fit a replacement plug so next time I head down south near a LR wrecker with a FL2 I'll see if I can cut the harness and plug off one of the looms they have.
