    Unhappy timing belt for diesel

Has any body changed or had changed the timing belt in the td ? I could not find any info about when it should be done so I contacted the nearest LR dealer and they informed me that it should be replaced at 230000 ks at an estimated cost of well in excess of $3000,mine has 180000ks . Would be interested in other comments

Book said says 240000km. I did mine at 150000km. Belt is easy to do. It has timing tools required. Change the water pump as well, as it runs on timing belt. I would want it to be the whole service for that price. It involves all driveline oils
It doesn't leak oil, Its sweating power

The Kit you will need for the timing belt is LR032527. It is belt, idler, tensioner, water pump and gasket.

Mine hit ten years and 135,000 miles from new, so I had the ten year service done.

    Land Rover wanted $3800.

I had it done by Cox Auto in South Melbourne for $2500.

    Cheers,

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.
