    STOP/TAILLIGHT GLOBE

Have a 2011 FL2, which needs a stop tailight globe. Has anyone sourced one other than Land Rover who want a mere $68 for one. Pulled mine out and at first it seems an ordinary globe painted red, so bought a couple, but on fitting would not go, as the pins are placed at about a 10 to 3 angle aruond the base and not at 12 and 6.

Offset pin globes are used but you can use ordinary globes if you file off the pin that doesn't line up. Red dual filament globes with offset pins should be available at any parts store for a few dollars. Example:

Thanks, have already bought a set with offset pins, common and cheap, but the FL2 one's differ in that as well as the up and down offset, the pins are also offset when you look at them from the bottom up i.e like the hands on a clock. Very annoying piece of pointless engineering! But since I have globes will try and file off one of the pins and pad it out if it moves. Does it matter which pin I take off.

Of course you want to take off the pin that doesn't match your old globe, this makes the contacts under the globe work properly. Failing that just get the correct globes next time, as per the link. Type BAW15D.

Mistake, meant BAW15D PR21/5. The only description LR give in the manual is P21/5 same as the Haynes manual.

It was same as first picture, went to local Burson's store and picked up a couple for $6 each, work fine Makes LR price of $68 each seem a tad over priced!!!! Must admit when got that price confused me into thinking they were some exotic hard to get bulb, especially when googling FL2 stop light and not much came up. Thank's again, for making this such a great Forum.
