I have had to replace 3 in under 12 months.

Bill, does that year only use the single HB3 globe & a shutter over it for dipped beam?

For a while JLR offered a resistor wire modification for late models, in response to customer complaints, to reduce current to the HB3 bulbs to increase their durability. But its not available now.

It might be worth trying to find out more about this mod if yours is like this.

    Nick,

It does run the single HB3 globe.
Frustrating that if you blow a globe then you lose 50% of your available light.

I never use the auto headlight function, as many people thought this was the cause of blowing globes.
What I should say is fillaments burning out, not globes blowing.

I had heard about this resistor wire some time back. I will have to look into it again.

    Bill,

I think the part number is LR081691, not that it's much help if they are no longer available!

    Cheers,

I've replaced my H4 Halogens with H4 LED. Is that an option?

I have ordered some LED headlight replacements.
I'll let you know how they go.
