They quote 8.5 combined 6.8 highway. What you saw is normal. I get 6.7 100% highway driving and 10.2 100% city driving. Your defender does not have 400Nm as does the FL2 so the difference is probably down to weight.Quote:

It comes down to how you drive, an engine with potential will suck it down when you stomp it, whereas i cant get my gutless FL over 15L/100kms, even in thick sand.

I get 450kms from a 50L fill, almost exactly.

How many K's on the FL2?
They do tend to loosen up after 5000-6000 km's.
Have seen many with 8-8.5L/100ks.
When they are young they do chew some juice but bed in quite well & become very quickly.
p.s. my old mans 300Tdi consitantly gets 8.5-9L/100ks it is a manual & this will be the difference.
My 300Tdi Auto would continually get regardless of condition 11-11.5L/100ks
My 200Tdi Manual was awesome i would get almost evry fill 8-8.5L/100ks,
This is a mix of highway & stop/start traffic.
My Td5 gets 11.5-12L/100ks which includes its 32's
