At that price, I may well buy one as an 'in case' battery! Cheers for the heads up.
For those looking to replace their Land Rover battery, and are on a tight $budget, you may want to check out the X-Pack at Autobarn stores (but only till June 5th) for only $99. This 4wd/truck battery delivers a huge 580 CCA !
Tip: With this big capacity battery, you could, in an emergency where your engine has failed, drive your vehicle out of a creek crossing just on the starter motor (if you know what I mean).

Hey Garry, the X-PACK 4wd, Truck, and Tractor Battery X70ZZ supplying a considerable 580 Cold Cranking Amps was available in two successive Autobarn Catalogue sales. The first Cat expired 22nd May, and the last Cat expired 5th June. If there were none of these hefty batteries in the store you visited, then you could have ordered one there or gotten a 'rain check'
(keep this in mind for future sale items that may not be on the shelf).
Anyway, i'll make some enquires and see what I can find for you Garry.

RR P38, RR P38 . . . . . In essence, it's up to you to determine the suitability of any batteries' capacity for your vehicles' requirements (take into consideration factory options fitted, added accessories, age and condition of all elec circuits and loads).
By no stretch of the imagination could the X-PACK battery at 580 cold cranking amps be considered small. Those with classic Series Landys (like me), the electrical load extends to the starter motor, headlights, tailights, indicators, one or two wiper motors, a couple of dash globes. That's about it.
So with 580CCA these Landys will blitz it in, with heaps to spare.
And if you happen to eyeball one of the X-Packs, you'll see that they measure 305mm long x 174mm wide x 225 high (!). They,re probably 13 plates per cell. That's good enough for my 350 V8 Chev too!
