What didn't fall off mine down the hway was dispatched with once home. The underwash is expensive and brackish at best. Then you still have to get underneath when you get home just to make sure.

yes i have always wondered myself about the underbody wash, i'm pretty sure that its very hard to remove salt from water, i'm guessing a de-salination plant or something like it which would be expensive. there is a fair chance the introduct X amount of fresh water each day
in saying that i used the teewah underbody wash on the weekend mainly to remove the bulk of the sand which saved some brissy water when i washed the rig....umm they recommended the $12 wash, i put in $6 and it pretty much got rid of all the excess sand

Thank you all. We'll treat before leaving Melbourne and give some much needed TLC when we get home.
Closer to our leave time, if ok, I would like to post up a rough itinerary and get any feedback if you think our travel times are way off or if we're missing out on any of the good bits.
Thanks again,
Peter

i'm gunna have to pull the pin on this guys, sorry, work commitments have recently changed and having trouble organising a dog sitter, all becoming to hard to have fun these days![]()
When living in N.Z. (yes i'm a kiwi) we lived near the coast, a place called 90 mile beach, great for driving and surf fishing, we were on it a lot and a lot of others also, most common thing we used was waste engine oil sprayed under the vehicle then a quick drive down a dusty road sealed it so the oil didn't drip off onto the driveway, we used a spray gun connected to a compressor. Works great. Never had problems with salt or sand causing rust, some guys would put it on in 2 or 3 coats just to be on the safe side. Just an idea for you to think about.
EPA . . . . is that the "eternal pain in the ass " party affiliated with the tree huggin greenies???? I love those guys bake and cake sales, make some really good herb cookies from out west![]()
