well if it was me, i'd be hoping to get the nod for new car shopping soon thats a ba, if i'm correct? are u with one of the companies that do new for old replacement? my old company only did 1yr, but i know that a couple now do 4. anyhoo, if u do look under the car, just check for what looks like a chassis rail thats been fibreglassed/embedded into the bottom of the floor/firewall and runs along the underside of the car. if its creased/cracked(likely near the front wheel), there's your answer.
I work for myself and the car is insured for $23900 so wouldnt be able to get a new one...bugger.

    Hey Stevo,

I've just found the thread and thank goodness that everyone is O.K..

Yeah, your prang leaves mine in the shade. What a mess. What an idiot of a council worker.

On a positive note, that's prang number 3 for our club members, so for those of us who may be a little superstitious, that should spell the end of the spate of accidents.

    Here's hoping anyway.

I hope for your sake that the vehicle is repairable. I too know what it's like to have one written off, and then go through the awesome expense of having to purchase another vehicle.

As for having to go to Brisbane for warranty repairs, can't Rick carry those out under the terms of your warranty policy?

    Cheers

Thanks mate, though in this case we want it written off as it is insured for $27 and we owe $16, so would work in our favour. The warranty repairs were under the dealers statutory warranty so had to be carried out on their premise. I now have excellent aircon and the front shaft has been replaced...so all good ,

    Regards

Steve, sorry for the vague wording in my earlier post. i meant if your insurance company offers new for old replacement. places like qbe and i think its aami or sgic offer 4 or 5 years. others offer 1yr. have alook thru ur policy to see. 27k is a great agreed value for a ba na xr6. good luck, whichever way it goes.
