Toyota 1...XR6 0 and nigh night nurse

Well looks like our XR6 will be no longer after a rather nasty accident I was in this evening. If anyone knows Mudgeeraba Rd, where the lights are an the shops at end of Tallai Rd, if you were delayed this evening...that was me . I was heading northbound and a council Hilux decided to cross over double lines to go in an entry into the shops clearly marked NO RIGHT TURN..NO ENTRY. I had Kurt, my stepson in the car with me and slammed on the brakes. We TBoned the Hilux and sent it into the air and it spun around and ended up in the embankment. Fire engines, Ambos and police turned up, it was a no brainer, as for the XR6 it was nailed nothing left at the front. Bonnet up over the windscreen, pretty bloody awful. Airbags didnt even deploy?? Thankfully nobody was hurt. The council bloke said he was heading to a call for about an aggressive dog somewhere hence the reason for the illegal turn that could have been much worse for us had he hit us.

Now of course this has to happen when my D2 is on the other side of Brissie having warranty repairs, the one time I leave my wallet at home and when the breathalyzer comes out, panic thinking have I had a beer, luckily I had only had half a beer and all was good. Also great was the people who arrived at the accident and the bloke who stopped and waited till the firies, ambo, police etc arrived as the Hilux was behind him and said if I needed anything to let him know. To his credit the guy who caused the accident was the first to tap on the window to see if we were alright. Also thanks to Mick who has offered to help me out with getting to Brissie tomorrow.

    Here is the clear sign:

Here is a pretty crap pic of what the Ford looked like:

Anyway am now enjoying a few coldies and ciggies to get over the shock

    Regards

    Stevo

Glad you are both ok, good that it was a council vehicle, at least you wont have trouble with their insurance company, hopefully.....
we have had two incidents, MVA in the last two months with people who are mongrels with no insurance, we claim on ours then these rats use lawyers to present us with demands for money..... lucky we have good insurance and they have sorted it out quickly with no problems...
    cheers
