I am still Laughing "Get Happy"
Question though What Happens after you "Get Happy" with the Jeep when you have finsihed with the Big Hammer or Grinder, you go to the phone and order oversize flares to cover up your Handy Work.
Does Getting Happy involve cutting the side panels of the car ???
Correct me if i am wrong but yours is a 3 door right? if so it is slightly less complicated as you dont have door skins to contend with on the back. You should not need to take too much body out :D, from memory if you need more then the trailing edges trimmed you can normally follow the lines of the existing guards to open up the whole area. Running standard offset rims you should not need flares if running less then 10.5 wide tyres (to cover the tyres), so it just depends on how good you are with the grinder as to if you will need to cover up any mess
i suppose you could try mine,
then watch me cut yours up.
Re-flares. Go to Clark Rubber, for less than $100 you have flares anjd these screw on the outside after you cut (I used tech screws, cost @10 from good 'ol bunnings). These fancy flares from LRA and the like are overated and overpriced and I've done this myself, wouldn't do it again and put my hard earned elsewhere (at $600 a set that is, not cheap).
If you have a 3 door Disco (being an early one and what you paid for it) it's a piece of ****. Just don't open the beer first, do that later to make sure you don't 'overcut' :(

Exactly as Stikman has suggested, I cut along the upper bend of the already pressed out guard flare in the aluminium.
After this you fit the tryes and trim the frotn and rear lower ends of the guards where needed.
Yous is a two door so get happy! I also found beer had no effect on the outcome, but may have a slight effect on safety so do so at your own risk
I find beer helps and you are more aware of what you're doing plus the job looks better as well  most of my fab work is beer-influenced, you can tell :D:D

There is a post of a 3dr D1 on 33x12.5 with a 2inch lift and flares.
