Hey Justin some good info there! I reckon he must have had both lockers. I dont think you have a chance without.

When we were there last time...

I left my car at the bottom

and Eric, Phillipe and the other Justin all tried it, and no one made it.

    All 3 cars had 2 locker's, 35's, wheelbases of between 100 and 109" etc

The only thing that stopped all of us was the ground was so dry and was basically just thick powder. Its just not the place to have multiple attempts with huge h/power. It needs to be driven sensibly with finese. Just watched the second video. What a redneck goose that knob is. Thank christ he drives a jeep. No wonder the greenies want to close all the tracks with people like him about

Just watched the two video's, kudo's to the first bloke, very nice bit of driving, however that paul harris is a complete knob. Apart from the rubbish driving style, he wasn't even wearing a seatbelt. You can see he got chucked out of his seat twice and nearly out of the car .

As people have said, he gives 4x4er's everywhere a bad name.

The least you could do is wear a seat belt, especialy when there is a very very steep gully on the left hand side

I think it was a very tricky drive. It is up to the driver at the time to make the kinds of decisions on how to tackle it. I don't think that making personal attacks, not to mention mass generalisations on a persons character via how they "look" in a video clip is smart, nor clever. Keep those kinds of opninions to yourself. I could say that all Land Drover drivers are soft as they seem to be too busy writing on chat sites and not out doing real driving. Get off your high horses and show us some of your action if you are so good.

really perhaps you want to go visit the overlander site where land rover drivers are being attacked for that very thing!...,

you're not alone and your certainly not special

EDIT: I have just watched the video's and I totally agree with the comments above....very irresponsible the person in the second video and he is lucky he didn't injury himself or his passenger
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

Holy Mackarel, that second vid is insane!
I hope I'm never on a trip where my mates drive like that
The end result is inconclusive though - did he actually make it? All i saw towards the end was somebody changing the seat cover.....

'99 'fender - it goes... (quite well actually!)

If there's one thing we can all learn from watching these two videos it is that the stready, thoughtful approach and keeping your wheels in touch with terra firma will get you a lot further and a lot safer than the gung-ho, high revving, foot to the metal approach.

I wonder how the two vehicles would have gone if the drivers had of changed mounts.
