A big thanks to the organisers of the event, to Glen and Patsy for their efforts and also to the cooks of the best breakfast. Thanks to all the members who attended making the weekend a great weekend for me :D
So I left home just after 7:30 for Pete & Sams place, where I was to jump into the RRC to be chaffeured for the weekend.
Josh, and our convoy partners heading to Queens Park;

Our next destination was the Dugandan Hotel, where we were met by many, took the oppourtunity to take many photos and meet some fello enthusiasts
There were cameras everywhere!!!
http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/997...2medium.th.jpg
For very good reason;
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/759...3medium.th.jpghttp://img59.imageshack.us/img59/284...9medium.th.jpghttp://img854.imageshack.us/img854/5...7medium.th.jpghttp://img834.imageshack.us/img834/7...1medium.th.jpg
Our next destination was to be Lake Moogerah, it had been just over 10 years since I last visited the lake and I must say it is looking fantastic.
Again the camera was out and I got some good shots just firing at random through the open window on the RRC;
http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/5...6medium.th.jpghttp://img571.imageshack.us/img571/5...9medium.th.jpghttp://img812.imageshack.us/img812/7...1medium.th.jpg
Almost forgot to mention how impressive this convoy was!

We finally arrived at our morning tea destination, Lake Moogerah

After we all fueled our bodies, mostly of hot chips smothered in chicken salt, we comenced the next leg of our epic journey. To the lovely acerage property of the Haines Family.
Ofcourse filled with the idea that I was going to get my cameras 999 remaining photos to change I kept shooting almost the whole way...
It was fairly green at times;
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/2...3medium.th.jpg
Convoy still impressive;

The mountain range is insane in this area, the landscape is just fantastic. I could not help myself, I just kept taking photos. It was hard not to;
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/6...6medium.th.jpg
The convoy had the same effect on me, I was blown away by the Snaking landrovers;
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/948...1medium.th.jpghttp://img534.imageshack.us/img534/7...3medium.th.jpg
Upon arrival to the Haines property it was obvious everyone else had the camera bug;
http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/999...5medium.th.jpghttp://img846.imageshack.us/img846/1...9medium.th.jpg
Then we relaxed and enjoyed the home cooked pumkin soup;
http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/373...1medium.th.jpghttp://img51.imageshack.us/img51/870...1medium.th.jpg
Looked over some impressive Jags;
http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/9...6medium.th.jpghttp://img217.imageshack.us/img217/2...0medium.th.jpg
Then departed, but not before a quick shot of the cows behind the elctric fence;
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/5...3medium.th.jpg
We travelled a short distance to our camp site for the night. A lovely grassed field, that just happened to be right beside a pub... The Rosevale Pub!
I didn;t know it at the time, but this pub was to provide further epicness to this already flipping fantastic trip.
So we all set up our homes away from home, and had a sit down to discuss our day so far. I took the oppourtunity to try out my new lense...
Of course taking another 200 photos :eek:
The first was of this lovely young lady whom had turned up in a blue i30 just for the pub dinner and camping;
http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/5...3medium.th.jpg
I also got a great shot of this young buck! Settle down ladies...
http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/2...5medium.th.jpg
So it was portrait o'clock and I went mad!
http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/2...6medium.th.jpghttp://img140.imageshack.us/img140/1...3medium.th.jpghttp://img842.imageshack.us/img842/3...3medium.th.jpghttp://img832.imageshack.us/img832/9...1medium.th.jpg
Even as it got darker, I just whipped out the 430ex flash and continued to go mad!
http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/8...7medium.th.jpghttp://img839.imageshack.us/img839/2...4medium.th.jpghttp://img811.imageshack.us/img811/8...1medium.th.jpghttp://img3.imageshack.us/img3/4172/...mediumw.th.jpghttp://img401.imageshack.us/img401/8...5medium.th.jpghttp://img69.imageshack.us/img69/885...6medium.th.jpghttp://img688.imageshack.us/img688/6...7medium.th.jpghttp://img252.imageshack.us/img252/7...8medium.th.jpghttp://img6.imageshack.us/img6/6786/...0medium.th.jpghttp://img215.imageshack.us/img215/6...9medium.th.jpg
This night was only just getting warmed up... actually what am I talking about we didn't even have a fire going yet.
But this was for very good reason, you see it was time to venture next door to enjoy the pub and all it had to offer... or was it all that we had to offer the Pub...
Stay Tuned!!!
Grimace - I think it needs to be said - brilliant photographs! Thank you, so much, for editing and posting what you have here. You are now - Lord GRimdon :D
OK.... So we were off to the pub. Although I had only had a very minor amount of drinks by this stage I still wasn't really paying attention to time, so have no idea what time we ventured to the pub. Time doesn't mean shiz when your having this much fun!
We got to the pub and it was decked out with gas and electric heating out the back, with a slight leak somewhere!
A juke box on the wall and a pool table for our enjoyment. But most important a bar... WITH BEER!!! :D
Inside the pub, doesnt it look warm!!
http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/3...mediumn.th.jpghttp://img10.imageshack.us/img10/548...3medium.th.jpg
I don't know how much Sam had to drink by this stage, but its seems the resident cat (whom I now call Manuello) also had an equal amount.
http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/5...7medium.th.jpghttp://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6...3medium.th.jpg
The camera was neglected for a while, as I ramped up the drink intake.
Everyone was having a ball, discussions varied greatly. The pool table got a work out, I also tested out the toilet block a number of times!
All the while Dan frantically organised a ticketing system for dinner and made sure everyone was accounted for.
We gathered around our dining destination choosing a seat in preparation for the chicken or steak that was en route.
Now the highlight for me without a doubt was just after the arrival of our tucker... When without hesitation, upped jumped Bruce (aka David aka Niner)...
What followed was an Oad to the Haggis, belted out with great passion. Honestly had all in stitches, I appologise, as I actually failed to get any clearer shots as I was ****in myself with laughter.
http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/5...4medium.th.jpg
Then a more formal and well put string of words from our great trip organiser. Almost brought a tear to my eye :D
http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/2...1medium.th.jpg
THEN WE ATE!!! But the camera never sleeps :D
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/87/...5medium.th.jpghttp://img716.imageshack.us/img716/9...7medium.th.jpghttp://img23.imageshack.us/img23/666...9medium.th.jpghttp://img577.imageshack.us/img577/8...4medium.th.jpghttp://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7...5medium.th.jpghttp://img10.imageshack.us/img10/406...6medium.th.jpghttp://img502.imageshack.us/img502/4...7medium.th.jpg
Somewhere around here Bruce took over the camera duties while I scoffed my chicken down in 43 seconds flat! Nice shots Bruce :)

Harry not to be out done by Sam or myself...
http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/9...4medium.th.jpghttp://img98.imageshack.us/img98/110...4medium.th.jpg
Time to ramp it up another notch me thinks!
DAMN, No Sonia Dada :(
http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/1...0medium.th.jpg
I simply could not let this photo go into the archives without some form of exposure to the real world :)
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/8546/...9medium.th.jpg
Everyone enjoyed desert, which was all part of the service. I think Wayne wants more?
http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/7...1medium.th.jpg
While it may have been getting into the negatives out side, we were kept warm.
http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/595...4medium.th.jpg
Amazingly I was not even drunk! :angel:
http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/7...9medium.th.jpghttp://img687.imageshack.us/img687/3...0medium.th.jpg
WE DANCED!!! (some more than others)
http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/9...0medium.th.jpghttp://img821.imageshack.us/img821/6...5medium.th.jpg
Pete got even better looking as the night went on.
http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/3...1medium.th.jpg
Sam was thrilled with all the dancing, she couldn't contain herself and was busting out in moves that would put Usher to shame.. did I say Usher... I ment MC Hammer!
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/7...1medium.th.jpghttp://img189.imageshack.us/img189/7...mediuml.th.jpg
Yep, there were still cameras floating around amongst all the shenanigans.
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/5...6medium.th.jpg
These three muppets tried the 'I am still sober' pose in the first shot... didn't last long...
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1...9medium.th.jpghttp://img837.imageshack.us/img837/7...1medium.th.jpghttp://img189.imageshack.us/img189/6...2medium.th.jpg
Two more photos that just couldn't go un-published to the world!
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/463...6medium.th.jpghttp://img99.imageshack.us/img99/921...8medium.th.jpg
It must have been getting late now cause I took this shot of two guys making out on a dance floor. I don't know who either of them are :wasntme:
http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/2...5medium.th.jpg
This guy wanted me bad!
http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/3...7medium.th.jpg
These guys not soo much.... 'Get that camera outta here' :D
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/250...0medium.th.jpghttp://img684.imageshack.us/img684/1...2medium.th.jpghttp://img59.imageshack.us/img59/699...3medium.th.jpghttp://img717.imageshack.us/img717/2...4medium.th.jpg
Some images require no words, other images words can not explain...
http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/4...8medium.th.jpghttp://img96.imageshack.us/img96/766...9medium.th.jpg
A great night experience by all IMHO, smiles to prove it :)
http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/4...2medium.th.jpghttp://img823.imageshack.us/img823/9...3medium.th.jpghttp://img40.imageshack.us/img40/456...8medium.th.jpg
Now I can't recall the trip from the back of the pub to the camp fire, but I do recall the shenanigans continuing around the fire.
Notably Me and Pete almost killed Sam... Dave was coming onto me pretty hard as usual, he wants me more than Pete does.
I attempted to play with Garys bags, twice. Those pipes are hard to blow :o
I went to bed... woke up feeling warm enough... and rightly so it was a beautiful morning!
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/6...5medium.th.jpg
But it must have been cold over night :eek:
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/347...8medium.th.jpghttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/5...9medium.th.jpg
I woke Josh up,
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/3...6medium.th.jpg
Harry come to say good morning,
http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/1...8medium.th.jpg
And lastly, this has to be one of the best RRCs in Australia... Bloody beautiful (even though I am prob a little biased).
http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/6...1medium.th.jpg
That's all from me for this trip report. In case you didn't notice I had a bloody brilliant time and thank everyone once more for allowing me to do so. Thanks :)
You're a genius Grimace - highlight of my day reading your comments! :)
Can't add too much to the report but we had a great time as well. Good company and a skinfull for a few :) (not me of course). Thanks to Dan for organising and of course everyone else for being good fun company. I took a lot of photos but put the camera away for the dinner which is probably a good thing. Just a couple of the photos need to be posted though -
This is what we were faced with before dinner :eek:, but the bagpipes were pretty cool :).

And this shows just how big a night it was :).

All the photos can be found here, I think there are some pretty good ones of some of the cars though some can be a bit repetitive. Still I figure it's better to let you all decide which ones you like :cool:.

Cheers,

Thanks to Dan for organising the series trip, both josh and I had a great weekend, and thanks to all who attended and made us feel very welcome on our first trip.:D
Well the day didn't quite turn out as planned, Friday afternoon the spring on the starter decided to break, but we were able to fix/replace that, then to check the fluids eg gearbox - the front seat and floor have to be removed, then the top plate of the gearbox itself. Next refer to the manual to confirm how much oil is required. All of this was somewhat easier that the rear diff, admittedly we already had the floor out to fix the starter issue. All back together started ok, then was able to move it outside to clean and polish ready for the next days adventures.:D
Saturday morning arrives, the car is out ready for the guests to turn up, the roof is down as it was sunny - I wasn't quite sure the night before whether it was going to be roof up or down weather. I had many warm jackets and raincoats packed for the days trip.
And we're off, first gear change was good, into 3rd ok also, but trying to get back into 2nd took about 6 goes, double clutch no syncro, have to have correct car speed and revs, apart from the fact I haven't driven the car in over 2 years it didn't go too bad - at least I didn't have to stop and start again which in the past I have. Its times like that when you wish the passenger would stop talking so you could try and concentrate on driving the car - he didn't.:wasntme:
All was going well until I noticed that the water temp was rising rapidly so I pulled over before it got too hot. At which point it dumped its coolant and it was game over for this car. What does one do in this situation - lift the bonnet and look like you know what you're doing. There were no split hoses, leaking pipes etc. Interestingly only 2 people stopped to check we were ok - the first in an old escort panel van, and the other who claimed to have a trailer that he could bring back - we kindly refused as we have racq cover for this type of thing. So a call to my father you came to the rescue but equally couldn't see any issues. Obviously something was wrong but as yet it still isn't absolutely clear what caused it. So it was tow truck time to get the car home. Dad kindly offered to go home with the car and we continued on in another classic but this time it was a early 70's P6B Rover 3500. This car needed a good drive and that is exactly what it got:cool:.
When Dad got home he filled the radiator and drove it into the garage but I think we're going to have to remove the radiator and have it re-pressure tested and also remove the water pump to check its operation and the seal behind it onto the motor. Might be ready for next years trip.
So back to the trip after the Yamanto exit we were behind a white 130 which looked like Killers and followed it all the way to Boonah until we had to duck off and get fuel and check a few other things as we weren't intending to bring this car. We caught up with the convoy just after they left the photo shoot.
The rest has pretty much been covered in the other reports. We didn't camp the night although it looks like a lot of fun was had. I will add a few photos including: the broken spring; the gearbox - just incase you want to see what a 1924 gearbox looks like; downstream from Lake Moogerah dam wall; Rainman in the back on the freeway and the car itself.
couple more pics: on the road; the creek on the Haines property; the picnic area that Brian mentioned at the end of the walking track; the campground
