Hi All
Sorry for the late reply but the computator at home is buggered and I have to do this at work. WELL, we all met at Canungra at 9.30 for a 10am start. We had 17 cars for the day, including a LandRover Navara. Unfortunately Phil couldn't get there so I was asked to lead the trip and Jason & Les went TLC (Thx guys). We made our way thru Wonglepong and Bidaddaba before coming through to some private property which had a gazetted road through the middle. As we had the Series vehicles up front with no navigators, Steph offered to open the gates (I knew I brought her along for a reason) and Jason and Les closed them again. After a nice 3km drive through the private property over some slightly rutted tracks we emerged in the Kerry valley on Lambert Road. We continued along Nindooinbah estate road, turned left into Cainbable Creek road and stopped at the end of the road in a nice little setting by the creek for a cuppa. After about 20-30 minutes we continued back along Cainbable Creek rd, turned left and ended up back on Kerry road until we reached Darlington Park for a spot of lunch by the creek. After about an hour of eating and talking, we set about doing the run up Duck Creek Road. As you can see in the photo's we had a bit of fun on about 4 side tracks, I and a few other were quite surprised how well Jame's did in the Freelander in the rutted mud tracks on the first side track. Harry was up HJM for the rent, Sam finally put some dirt and mud on the new 90, it was a lot of fun. we continued up the track and veered off to the left for another track which was quite slippery due to the mist and light rain we encountered throughout the day. This track made it's way back to the main track again before another little track off to the left again that crossed the main track and took us up, over a crest, through some mud puddles and back down a steep drop off before re-joining the main track again. Grimace had a few problems with the Disco's rear spring dislocating but managed to get it back in again. We ended up at O'Rielly's resort for a coffee, scones and cream n jam, hot chips and whatever else we could get to warm up the insides. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves, We had a great day and it nice to do a different route. Thanks to Phil for mapping the route, sorry you couldnt make it, hope all goes well for you mate. Thanks to Jason & Les again for going Tail End for me and thanks to everyone else for turning up and being nice to this virgin trip leader. I will post up some photo's later today and put a link up to the Youtube page with some video's as well. Thanks again all for a fantastic day. I have received a lot of comments this morning with all the mud on the Tardis, saying I must have had a good weekend.
Cheers Ian
