[Social] Beach BBQ @ Gold Coast Spit - Jan 2015
Well the new year is upon us and what a lovely way to catch up with a majority of club members.
Jess, Fry and I left home around 8.20 on a mission to find a spot.... I think we left too late, as by the time we had arrived there were already people everywhere.
Fortunately for us some grubs had left a absolute mess in the location we managed to secure. Which seemed to put other Spit goers off.
We located a bin and cleaned the place up a bit. I even manage to find a weird looking contraption that Jess described to me as a 'selfie stick', SCORE!
Josh arrived shortly after and helped to prepare some shade which he kindly provided.
Meanwhile it had gone from overcast to pouring rain!
With not much else to do until people started to arrive I cracked open a cold beverage and we waited.
Mum arrived, with more shade and to our surprise she brought coffee for everyone, but in her old age she forgot the sugar! Thanks Mum, love you!
Shortly after that Wayne and Lynette arrived with more shade and striking good looks. Damn Wayne!
Then before I knew it there was a whole crew of members enjoying the sunshine! Yep it got sunny, and hot!
Kids loved the water, but not as much as Stuart and Ruth, who peddled all the way from Burleigh in the pouring rain Prob was faster then taking the Disco anyway!
I think the kids may have been out numbered by dogs, there were pooches everywhere. They all seemed to be having a wonderful time.
I had a very enjoyable day, and I hope the BBQ snags were as good as can be expected from a true legend and master chef.
I have to thank Jess for arranging all the food and shopping the day before. Also a thanks to Joshua's father Tom for his assistance at the BBQ.
Again thanks to mum for bringing coffee for all.
I don't know if I manage to chat to everyone I was pretty flat out so if I missed you Happy New Year!
I'd like to thank everyone for attending, apologise for those that didn't/couldn't make it.
Thanks to Josh, Mum (again) and Wayne for the use of their shade.
Thanks also to my old man for the use of his orsum BBQ! Unfortunately he had to work so couldn't attend.
And finally a big thank you to the grubs who left behind the selfie stick!
More selfie stick photos to come as soon as mum gets more credit on here phone!
