    Janowen Australia day weekend 2015

Well, we thought it was going to be a washout but as I hit Boonah the clouds cleared and the sun shone on top of the mountain. It was a slow slog through the mud getting to camp after reaching the front gate, The Tardis churned slowly away thru the mud across the top of the hill but eventually reached the bottom campground and after setting up, made dinner, grab a bottle of red and enjoyed a late night by the camp fire with a greatbunch of people. Saturday morning came too soon, and after breakfast, sorted all the paperwork out ( thx dj ) The extreme group took off to find the hard stuff whilst the rest took a medium wet run out past the playground, and through to the bottom of the lookout. Harry had the 101 going gunbusters through the scrub and we were all amazed where John and Deneyse managed to put the RRS. I managed to get the Tardis stuck ( on purpose of course) so we could do some recovery training for Ashnjane and Dizzy. After that was done a couple of times, we went back to the playground and had some fun there. That done is was lunchtime, so back to camp for a bite to eat, then it was time to put the Freebies through their paces in the playground which they tackled with gusto and great effort. Returning to camp we relaxed for the rest of the day before tucking into dinner (thai green chicken curry) and moe vino around the campfire. Sunday, bacon n eggs n coffee consumed, thx Busman, we had an extreme group head west to explore whilst dj and i took the rest up the middle and across the top before John unfortunately had a suspected cv joint let go and we had to recover him back to camp, after lunch i unfortunately had to pack to leave but i hope the rest continued to have fun. Thanks to all that turned up and i hope you enjoyed it as much as i did. Now to try and clean the truck pics to come, watch this space!
    Cheers Ian

    Janowen Australia day weekend

Was a great trip away and think we were very lucky the weather played nice. Especially as Tom arrived in his rangy3 lunchtime Saturday by sliding into the campground sideways... What a time to have misplaced my actioncam

We left the rangy at camp and took mine out for a proper test as Fraser isn't a challenge. Am glad to say the perentie performed much better than my expectations in complete stock form at present. Was flexing well through the play area and am very impressed with the super low low it has in the LT95.

A few vehicles went down for the count unfortunately including Simons white P38 which needed to be towed back a distance over a few hills. With grimace in front with fluffy, myself in the 110 behind and Simons rangy strapped in between (where is this going? ) we did get into a good rhythm testing the vehicles strengths. This basically entailed me in neutral going up hills with the almighty power of Fluffy pulling 6t up the hills and then downhill with the perentie in low gear holding them both back without the use of brake at all

Thanks to all for the company. Will post up some pics shortly.
