    LCMP 2015

In 2 days worth of 4wding we did 2 tracks mind you they weren't easy. Both creek runs with Grimace leading. Following Grimace is kind of like following Eric, both have silly amounts of clearance and just drive over the top of everything. We did a couple more tracks in getting firewood in the afternoon. Tim did very well to get his car through with minimal damage, only required winching in one spot, the other 2 recoveries - well there are pics both of Tim.

I finally managed to remove the side steps on Friday afternoon, which was sensible as they would be destroyed after the creek runs - the newly fitted sliders have already been scratched and the bull bar has a decent dent

Arriving sometime after midnight Friday, I setup trying to not wake anyone - I think I was successful. Saturday morning we headed out to do "test track" - red = extreme. We did get stuck in a traffic jam, trying to get about 10 cars past one another in a reasonably tight creek run is interesting.

Team sports played after lunch on Saturday including frisby and soccer.

Just after we got the fire going on Saturday afternoon, the heavens opened and it bucketed down. Campground channeling was required to try to divert the water flow both away from the fire/firewood and also clear of the tents. Cooking dinner over the fire in the rain isn't that much fun. At this point in time I went to get warm and dry and given that the rain really looked like it was set to stay I went to bed, yep it was very early, only one problem with that 2am I was wide awake, but it was still raining. Sunday morning the rain had cleared and it was lovely blue skies for the next track.

Sunday mornings drive was another Red track - Cruiser Canyon, I think this was worse/better (depending on your point of view) than Saturdays Creek run. Lots of spotting required.

Then back to camp to have lunch pack up and head home.

Awesome trip guys. Haven't been camping for a while so was good to get out. Pity about the rain and the burnt dinner Sat night...
Had lots of fun when we played Frisby and soccer and even the 4wding wasn't too scary!

Managed to finish my book and pack up everything Sunday morning while the boys were out breaking stuff

    Great company too

The traffic jam in the first creek run. TimJ going through a mud hole and becoming stuck on the the diff, he tried winching himself out using Grimace as the anchor but just pulled Grimace towards him, so they had to snatch him out instead. Grimace driving over whatever he feels like. And the start of Sundays creek run.

The exit of the creek run, further up this hill there were many options all with very rutted wash outs. Tim didn't like the look of the one I chose so went to the left only to get round the corner to slide into a worse rut. Grimace rescued him but his car couldn't handle it and started to fall apart. Well actually not quite right, apparently an innocent little rock caught the rear guard and ripped it off - zip ties to the rescue for the trip home. The last photo is of the campgrounds on the Sunday afternoon when most people had left. There were facilities close by.
