    DARE Crystal Creek

Well, I'm home after an eventful day and, after a couple of beers, too many tacos and having cracked a nice bottle of red, I thought I'd start a trip report thread.

They say a picture tells a thousand words......well......

After a some technical chats at the camp site we set off in two groups to practice.

    We practiced snatching...

Which was just as well because all but 3 of us got stuck and had to be snatched out of the mire, some twice...

    One had to be winched...

    Harry decided once wasn't enough...

The crowd was going wild...or were they worried because they hadn't had their turn yet? In hindsight I don't think there was much confidence in the group as most had snatchstraps already fitted and ready to go. I know I did, and just as well.

The shorty got through with no trouble at all...

Stevo didn't enjoy the same outcome...

    Nor did Richard...

    Or Josh

    Or X-Box

Somewhere there's some pics of my D3 sideways in the mire which I'm looking forward to seeing. Who's idea was it to take a different route through there?

Sorry there's no pics of the 109, too far out front!

Anyway, a great day as usual, thanks to Harry, Josh and Bolts for the instruction and Stevo for lunch.

PS: PM me with your email address if you want any hi res copies of the above.

Dam that looks like great fun, I was going to come down until drinks finished at 3am and my friends kids woke at 5.30am although I was warned that they would - didn't think it would have been sensible to drive on that little sleep hopefully i'll make the next trip

Are there many staying the night for more fun tommorrow?

    G'day all,

Great day yesterday and good to see many new faces...and some old ones. Even though I only airred down a bit yesterday as was there more to fulfill my commitment as Chief BBQer, tyres were the winner of the day. 12 vehicles, 9 boggings, 3 through with Muddies. Great team work on getting the bogged vehicles through, was a great demo of real recoveries, especially Marks , wasn's sure which way he was going to end up, but snatched safely at the end. Really wanted to stay the night, as left when camp fire was going, next time . Here are some pics

Hey, i had a great day out thanks for the members who help me winch out of the bog hole, ie climbing the hill to secure the winch rope, lending the extention strap while i sat in the car ready to start the winch nice and clean. The cook and his helpers did such a good job, we want them to come next time and cook. The photos are great once again. WhiteD3, the boys have to come on the next trip with the video camera. Thanks to all members that came to make it a good day.

Kat and I really enjoyed the weekend too - made even better with such good company. Thanks Bolts and Harry for the instruction - it was a worthwile exercise and we were both made to feel very welcome.

    Here are my pics...

Mark's D3 following recovery from the bog...

Then we have Xtreme in the bog - electric winch time with Eric's help...

Josh looking on with Xtreme still nailing it...

Stevo had a go, with the same result...

So John to the rescue in his Series 3 - which DID make it...

Then Josh had a crack at it - almost there....

Louis having a red hot go...

Everyone's vehicles were going to need a wash...

Then on for some free play time...

Back at camp - we all enjoyed checking out each other's vehicles...

We also secured a great campsite - we got there just in the nick of time to edge out the Nissan Stooges ...

Thanks again Guys - great weekend.
